Ghostshadow stretched and got up, then padded out to the Apprentices' den.
ReplyDelete*She and Sparrowflight pad over, and select two nests, then curl in a tight ball, drifting into sleep.*

ReplyDelete"Ghostshadow, Rainstar requested that you make us Warriors."
Ghostshadow narrowed his eyes.
"And I am supposed to believe that?"
He smiled, then licked Snowpaw's nose.
"Then lets go."
Sparktail padded inside, looking hopefully around for Hawkeye. He snorted when he didn't see the beautiful dappled she-cat. Rather disappointed, he curled up in his nest.
ReplyDeleteLeafbreeze glared scornfully at her brother.
"You seriously can't be in love already. We just got here..." Her words trailed away as Ghostshadow padded in and laid in his moss nest near the entrance. Leafbreeze shot one more glare at Sparktail, then she laid down beside Ghostshadow and the two chatted quietly.
Snakeclaw trotted silently inside, choosing the nest at the far back for his own. He sniffed it, then kneaded it with his paws then laid down.
'I'll go hunting later.' he promised himself.
Starlight pads in, tired, looking for Ghostshadow. She froze when she saw Ghostshadow and Leafbreeze. She stiffened even more when they glanced at her. She opened her mouth, but nothing came out. She blinked tears, ignoring their stares. She sulked over, to a nest in the corner, crying.

Ghostshadow looked over at Starlight, concern clouding his dark eyes. He glanced at Leafbreeze, who nodded and padded over to her brother, falling asleep beside him.
ReplyDeleteGhostshadow padded silently over to Starlight, curling himself next to her warm body. He licked the middle of her forehead gently.
Starlight looked up at him, her eyes still clouded. She licked his cheek, and settled against his flank.

Nightheart peeked over at Sparktail, then blinked and turned back to her brother. His muscles were rippling, and his eyes were glowing as he eyed the new cats. His main point was Oakclaw, as he was well built, with long claws and amber eyes. She followed his gaze to Leafbreeze, who was also eyeing her and Oakclaw. She glanced around, and saw one more cat. A black and white tom with green eyes, was in the back, carefully studying the new cats also.
ReplyDeleteI padded into the warriors' den, and quietly hissed in embarresment when lots of eyes turned to look at me. Starlight glared at me hatefully and moved closer to Ghostshadow, who looked merely curious. I slunked to an empty nest and curled there, willing the pairs of eyes to turn away. They didn't. I was frozen, couldn't talk, couldn't speak. At last, one by one, the warriors returned to their business. All execpt Starlight and Ghostshadow, who kept right on staring at me.
